Generative AI: A New Lens on Innovating Teaching, Learning, and Assessment

Keynote Presentation

Empowering Education: Leveraging AI for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment

This session will cover how to leverage AI to advance teaching, learning, and assessment practices to better support student success. After

painting a picture of common barriers and challenges to teaching and assessment work, the presenter will discuss how AI can streamline core processes and minimize common constraints like time-consuming analysis. AI can be a catalyst in addressing urgent issues of educational inequality, where assessment can be a tangible mechanism to advance diversity and equity-related efforts. Underscoring the importance of collaboration to advance equity and better support teaching and learning, AI tools can facilitate and equip data-driven partnerships.

Now more than ever, educators need to better empower one another to authentically engage in assessment and effectively tell the story of student learning. In doing this work, AI can further drive analytics and enhance the teaching, learning, and assessment processes with aspects such as real-time visualization and predictive modeling. The presenter will highlight key considerations and practical strategies for embracing AI in everyday work, as well as make time for Q&A with the audience.
