How Can You Get Your Audience More Engaged?
August 16, 2022
1:00 to 1:45PM Eastern Time
Via Zoom
The Chronicle of Higher Education recently reported that overburdened, tired, and burned out faculty members are growing more disinterested in traditional one-way professional development that lacks interactivity. How do we better engage faculty and staff in assessment activities in this environment? More generally, how do we get (and keep) peopleattending our workshops, seminars, classes, conference presentations, and other similar sessions involving an audience more engaged? During this special webinar, you will learn multiple tools to help you get your audience involved with, and even excited about what you have to say to them! And you'll have a chance to practice some of these tools yourself. We'll talk about ways to engage audiences before, during, and even after a session.
Based on years of experience as a professional speaker, presenter Maryann Murphy, MSW, will both describe and demonstrate engagement tools in this very interactive webinar. Maryann is a long-standing member of Toastmasters International and a past president of the New England Chapter of the National Speakers Association. She has held numerous leadership positions and received a multitude of speaking awards over the years, including the highest educational award a Toastmaster can earn, the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). She currently serves as President of South Coast Toastmasters and is the author of the book, Stop Wasting Your Precious Time. [Warning: As a result of attending this webinar, you may even be inspired to submit a presentation proposal for this fall’s NEean Forum or another upcoming NEean event!]
