Taking Stock: Our Roles, Dilemmas, and the Future of Assessment

This panel presentation takes a cross-sectional look at the current field of assessment and practices that need to be strengthened, developed, transformed, or retired as we look to the future. Discussion will broadly explore the role of the assessor and the goals of assessment including the importance of student voice. Paradigms and methodologies that help or hinder organizational learning and equity within both student and academic affairs assessment will be examined. The relationship of assessment to institutional accreditation and public good will also be considered. The audience is invited to join the conversation on keeping our profession relevant, meaningful, and effective.
