    • Knowledge of and experience with NECHE accreditation
    • Familiarity with statistical research methods for analyzing
    • Experience using student learning data at a broad, programmatic
    • Teaching experience in an educational or professional setting,
    • with evidence of strong interest in and success with accessible
    • Familiarity with data visualization software, Qualtrics survey
    • software, and/or the Canvas learning management system
    • Will need reliable internet
    • access to work from home and the ability to travel to Emerson's

    Responsibilities

    • The Academic Assessment Designer is responsible for leading student learning assessment programs for faculty teaching courses within responsibility for working with Marlboro Institute faculty and those teaching applicable courses to create assessments of student learning in the Foundations, Perspectives, and Interdisciplinary. 
    • This role also entails creating and delivering one-on-one support to all faculty members seeking to further the maintains statistics and reports on the work of the Office of Academic Assessment to be shared with the Emerson Community and Assessment, to set and implement the Office's strategic for individual faculty as they develop assessment methods and instruments to measure student learning in their courses; (2) programmatic assessment at the department and school level through the work of the Learning, Equity, and Assessment Program (LEAP); contribute to the College's re-accreditation materials and Lead a group of faculty responsible for assessment of courses strategic priorities and assessment calendars in consultation with Marlboro Institute leadership and the Senior Associate Director, Academic Assessment, as well as working with faculty to design assessments and create plans for closing the loop on findings further the assessment of student learning in their courses includes designing asynchronous resources; conducting one-one-one and small-group consultations with faculty and departments; and assisting faculty in developing, implementing, and analyzing the results of student assessments.
    • Compile monthly statistics on these Contribute to the Office's focus on developing equity-minded assessment practices across the College best-practices in conversation with the Senior Associate Director,
    • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Office's online assessment of student learning Canvas course for faculty
    • Enhance the availability of online materials by contributing to the development of the Office of Academic Assessment's website; maintain online resources and public reports on assessment
    • Work with the Senior Associate Director, Academic Assessment;
    • ITG; Iwasaki Library staff; the Director of Faculty Development & Diversity; and others to design and deliver faculty tenets throughout the College
    • Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and equity in the design, delivery, and analysis of assessment materials
    • Contribute, as appropriate, to data gathering, analysis, and reporting in support of the college's reaccreditation to create, maintain, and update reaccreditation assessment materials through research into current standards, consultation with faculty and departments, and updating relevant designing and assessing student learning outcomes, assessment practices and methods, relevant pedagogy, and rubric designs
    • Skilled in facilitating faculty groups, organizing multiple
    • Experience collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing
    • Position entails in-person individual and small group sessions and a mix of independent and collaborative projects
    • Work flows follow an academic calendar with periods of highly
    • collaborative and presentation-oriented work during semesters and
    • primarily independent work during intersessions
